Welcome to the Freak Show - Strobe Cosmetics

Late last night, a knocking sounded at my door.
I opened the wooden door with a creak and sitting on our welcome mat was a box. Not a person in sight but still the knocking continued.
I picked up the box, taking my trusty letter opener and pierced the tape.
I peeled back the lid, I peered inside.
There was a sea of orange tissue paper surrounding my ticket to the Freak Show.

I am of course talking about the Strobe Cosmetics "Freak Show" eyeshadow palette. Though if you follow me on Instagram or Tumblr you had probably already guessed that.
I first saw this palette in one of Rose Shocks Instagram photos, it was a photo of her eyeshadow palette collection. I hadn't heard of the palette before or the company for that matter but my fascination with the dark, macabre, weird and wonderful demanded that I have this palette. A quick search around the interwebs and I knew where to order this fabulous creation from. After finding the palette on the Strobe Cosmetics website I fell in love with one particular shade in the palette and was more determined that ever to claim it as my own.

I ordered the palette with my birthday money the day after my celebrations; the 15th of March for anyone keeping track at home.

I'd call put this palette in the "neutrals with a twist" category.
The packaging is slim, in gloss black plastic but without feeling tacky or cheap. Placed on the lid is a gloss sticker design based on the old fashioned ticket stubs. In big letters it shows that this ticket or palette for that matter is for a Freak Show.  The back of the palette provides you with ingredients and colour names.
Once opened you are greeted with a full lid sized mirror, the bottom section contains five pressed shadows and a small indentation for a brush to be stored. The palette is the perfect size to fit into my tiny purse, that in conjunction with the brush storage makes it extremely convenient for taking to parties or nights out for a quick mid-night touch up.

The shades are easily workable to design a day or a night look; which means that it is at the top of my list for any straight after work events that I need to attend. I can use the lighter shades for my work day and then apply some of the other shades for the event.

The first shade in the palette (going left to right)

Twisty: in pan appears as a shimmery greyed eggplant shade.
Once swatched, Twisty has a brown base with a bright purple shift. The heavier the colour is applied the more the purple becomes visible.

No Primer or base, rubbed my finger once in the pan and one swipe.
Strongman: when in the pan appears as a light antique gold colour. Once applied it becomes more of a dusty gold, almost a rose gold.

Monsters Among Us: is the colour that had me sold on this palette. The moment I saw it, there was no doubt in my mind that I would be buying this palette. Even in the pan this colour goes through a
dramatic shift. Depending on the light it can appear as a standard dark brown or a bright aqua.

Conjoined: In the pan, the shade comes across as a peachy gold. It keeps the same tone when swatched and on my skin is a beautiful buttery gold highlight shade.

Bearded Lady: A hickory brown in the pan and when swatched, this shade takes on a metallic cordovan or reddy purple hue,

The palette feels durable, it's slim nature means as I said before that it is great for travel and easy storage. The mirror is large enough to use for applying makeup and the colours are extremely pigmented. The beautiful vintage feel of the palette definitely called out to my tastes and earned this palette in my favourites very quickly.  <3

Geek Chic Cosmetics Sailor Moon Release

Hi Ghouls;

The start of 2015 has had me see some pretty bad luck, which will all turn around eventually. However whilst there has been some bad luck and circumstances the start of 2015 has also seen some amazing indie company beauty releases and some incredible clothing releases.
For those of you who follow me on Instagram you already have had a glimpse at the packages I have received over the past few weeks.

GeekChicCosmetics; a brand that I have been a proud follower of for many years; (you can see my review of their now discontinued Zombie and Vampire lines from 2011 here) announced that they would be releasing a Sailor Moon collection.
There has been a lot of renewed interest in the anime since the re-boot aired; I remember when I was little waking up and turning on 'Cheez TV' (Here in Australia this was the big childrens morning cartoon show in the 90's) and signing along to the theme song. It was the anime that introduced me to that world and naturally I was going to happily purchase this collection and enjoy the stroll down memory lane.

The collection came in a -once announced- limited edition tin (I'm not sure if this is still limited edition and if so when it may end). It contained 12 eyeshadows and there are also nail polishes however due to shipping restrictions I am unable to purchase those.
Due to a mass rush to order shipping took a little longer than usual, we were all advised of this in emails which I think it wonderful.
My collection turned up yesterday; there were a couple of images posted to Instgram and sadly my video wouldn't condense enough to meet their length requirements.

The tin is gorgeous, give it a bit of a twist and pull and it opens easily enough, there was a Luna sticker at the top of the tin which made me extremely happy.

I LOVE STICKERS!!

The first thing I will say about this collection is that there was so much shimmer on my hands after picking them up. Even through the shrink wrap my hands were just coated in different sparkles.
I'll start at the top and continue clockwise;

Space Turbulence: Energy unleashed as a series of beams from Sailor Uranus hands, Space Turbulance is a beautiful pastel canary yellow packed with silver/white iridescent glitter; it can feel a bit grainy during application and causes a lot of fall out, definitely suggest using a sticky base underneath this shade.

One swipe over bare skin, orange fluorescent light
Silence Glaive Surprise: Based on the offensive attack of Sailor Saturn; the manga shows the attack producing a thick fog.
The colour is an extremely light pastel lavender with white/silver and light pink shimmer. This shade doesn't seem to cause as much fall out as Space Turbulence but I would still recommend a sticky base.

Rainbow Moon Heart Ache: Named after the upgraded 'Moon spiral heart attack' this attack can only be performed by Sailor Moon in super form.
The colour is a creamy silver with an opalescent shimmer. This colour swatches bright and solid.

Queen of Darkness: Inspired by the evil queen Beryl herself, who is possessed by the jealous rage of Queen Matallia is this gorgeous cerise shade that shifts in the light with a greeny yellow shimmer.

(NOTE: I missed Chronos Typhoon here, this colour swatch and description will be added in at the end of the post)

One swipe over bare skin, orange fluro lighting
Crescent Beam Shower: Sailor Venus is awe inspiring with her stunning beam of light attack; this creamsicle orange shade, with deeper orange and a slight blue sparkle embodies all that Sailor Venus stood for. The shade is a little grainy when applied but blends out wonderfully.

Tuxedo La Smoking Bomb: I think that Tuxedo mask was the first cartoon crush of many girls. Mysterious, dark, tall and handsome, falling in love not with the stunning Venus but the ordinary slightly chubby and clumsy Sailor Moon. This colour is stunning, a dark matte black base that can shift to look slightly dark purple based; filled to the brim with rainbow glitter. This colour is grainy due to the chunkiness of the glitter but if you use a sticky base that glitter won't budge.

Twinkle Yell: There was no one cuter or more annoying than chibi moon or Rini. This bubblegum pink shade has a slight orange under note with some golden sheen thrown in for good measure.

Flower Hurricane: Jupiter was always my favorite, a tough exterior but inside femininity, as shown by this attack. A beautiful minty green to broadcast the softer side of this sailor scout but with fierce orange glitter.

One swipe over bare skin, orange fluro lighting
Mars Snake Fire: This colour represents the hot headed Sailor Mars; I remember the animation now, the swirling fire snake, coiling out from her pointed finger. This colour is a soft red satin with firey yellow glitter.

Mercury Aqua Mist: Sailor Mercury the lonely brainiac who found a family to accept her. This misty light blue shade has a robin eggs blue sheen, it is beautiful and can range from light blue/grey to a more denser periwinkle blue shade.

Submarine Reflection: An ocean blue teal shade representative of Sailor Neptune. This move has two different abilities depending on if you are reading the Manga or watching the series but I feel that this shade presents it well. The teal of the sea with golden and green glitter it feels as sophisticated as Sailor Neptune looks.

Chronos Typhoon: Finally and ironically is Sailor Plutos' garnet like orb of energy used to dutifully and loyally protect the royal family and the Senshi. Chronos Typhoon is a deep silver with a dominant green shift.

The majority of these shadows are packed with glitter and can feel gritty on the fingers, as mentioned in the descriptions with a sticky base they hold up well but will result in a bit of fall out during application. My suggestion is do your foundation afterwards.
Each shade can range from lightly applied to thickly packed on for good coverage. These were an amazing way for me to reminisce about the anime that literally started my obsession (well Sailor Moon and Pokemon) and as a young Australian watching Cheez TV in the morning, I can safely say that I wasn't alone in having this eye opening experience.

GlamourDollEyes Christmas Collection

Evening Ghouls;
On Black Friday GlamourDollEyes released three Christmas Collections. Each set contained four eye shadows and was designed by a fan of the company based on three separate movies inspired by or set during Christmas.
Unfortunately most of the products in this post are limited edition and are currently (if you are reading this after the new year) or will become unavailable after December 31st.
The first collection was inspired by the movie Elf, the second Edward Scissor Hands and the third which is the collection that spoke to me the most and which I purchased (non-surprising really) Tim Burtons' The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Two days before the Black Friday Sale and the Christmas Collection releases Vee posted that there were only a few of the October OTM (Of the month) colour left available as well as a few of the limited edition colour that she had created for Notoriously Morbids 'Cabinet of curiosities'.
I had seen the sneak preview of both of these shades and definitely wanted them, they both screamed dark and beautiful. These two colours were only released on the GlamourDollEyes StoreEnvy site so I purchased them on there and left a note hoping that Vee would be able to combine shipping with the order i knew I'd be placing during the Black Friday sale. Thankfully she saw my note and was able to combine the two; international shipping is a bit of a killer and would've been a pain with orders so close together. I am happy that i didn't take the risk of waiting as both colours were sold out before the Black Friday sale.

I arrived home this evening to a package marked from the wonderful Las Vegas (That's a 12 day wait for international shipping, INSANE!) and instantly knew that there were new goodies to be played with. Vee had packaged my order in a silk purple bag, along with the Nightmare Before Christmas collection and the two limited shadows that I had ordered because my order was over ten dollars I also got the 'Gift With Purchase' shadow for November 'Poodles'

The Nightmare Before Christmas Collection is in one word 'stunning'
From left to right the four colours are;

Meant to Be:  A light shimmery beige with lavender undertones.

Jack and Sally:  A blackened purple shadow with spots of bright purple glitter.

Sandy Claws:  A medium based pure shimmery red, it doesn't lean to far orange nor too far pink.

What's This?:  A beautiful blue based purple on the lighter side of the purple spectrum but not light enough to be considered Lilac or Lavender.

If I had to choose one 'MUST HAVE' shade from the collection, it'd be a tough choice between Jack and Sally with it's dark seductive purple shimmer and Sandy Claws with it's bright beautiful red pigmentation.

The three other shades that I received with my Christmas Collection are the limited editions that I couldn't let slip past my fingers. Especially not with names like Bat Queen and Fairy Royalty.

Bat Queen: A beautiful smashed pumpkin orange created as an Of The Month shade with the help of Victoria Donelda.

Poodles: The Gift With Purchase for November is a beautiful cream shade bordering the thin line to baby pink packed full of shimmer.

Fairy Royalty: A limited edition created for the Notoriously Morbid, 'cabinet of curiosities'.
This deep shimmery gold moss forest green is gorgeous.

I also thought I'd throw in here that at the start of November Vee announced that she had created three exclusive shadows for a stockist right here in the great land of Australia. The GlamourDollEyes for Femme Fatale consisted of three shadows which I snapped up immediately. After some initial drama with the delivery service the shadows arrived and I was able to play with them.

Stealing Angels; A Beautiful pastel mid toned purple. Rather than the pink base of What's this? from the Nightmare Before Christmas collection. Stealing Angels has a beautiful blue grey base; not as dark as the twi-shadows premonition however due to lighter pigmentation and multi-coloured shimmer.

Retail Therapy;  Despite the photo coming up more blue this shade in real life has a wonderful tinge of mint green which slides the colour towards a delicate turquoise with pastel gold shimmer.

Miss 401k; A Beautiful pale shimmery light antique gold.
It is slightly dirty gold with a yellow base in appearance,
which just adds to the charm.

As usual there are some wonderfully unique shades that every inch of my self approve of.
I can't wait to order from the Customer Appreciation collection releasing January 12th.

Good Evening Ghouls.
Ashlee Adams.

The Balm Nude 'Tude Palette

Hello Ghouls,
I finally gave in and purchased a nude/neutral palette, although as you can see from the title I didn't go with a traditional nude palette. In fact The Balm's Nude 'Tude palette is the perfect balance between neutral shades and a pop of color.

For any of you who know the Nude 'Tude palette you all know that of course I got the naughty version (no difference between eyeshadow colors) that features the pin up girls on the background. The palette is thin and compact, for reference it's thinner than the Sugarpill palettes. It's made out of the traditional thick cardboard with a very strong magnet holding it shut.

The palette has twelve shades, a very decent sized mirror and a double ended brush, one end an angled eyeliner brush and the other an angled fluffy eyeshadow brush.
There are four matte colors and the other eight linger between the shimmer and frost finishes.

Sassy: A frosty bright white, pigmentation is good and solid, does produce a bit of fall out.
Snobby: A frosty pale gold yellow, very chalky in formula but a nice lid colour if you want a pop of colour.
Stubborn:  Pale salmon pink shimmer. A lovely shade for a darker pink crease.
Stand-offish: Frosty apricotish coral, a bit on the chalky side as are most of the frosty shades in the collection but this is a lovely shade to use as an all over lid colour for a beautiful sheen.

Selfish: Greyish brown shimmer
Sultry: Ochre (Matte) a beautiful crease colour for a barely there make-up look.
Sophisticated: Chocolate brown with golden shimmer; perfect for a dark but more natural smokey eye.
Schitzo: Chestnut brown with golden shimmer. I use this for when i want a shimmer smokey eye.

Sexy: A red toned burnt umber (Matte) This is beautiful for a darker more sultry look.
Silly: A darker than medium brown with golden shimmer.
Serious: Black (Matte) a seriously dark black with no lean towards brown, blue or red.
Sleek: A very dark chocolate brown/Bistre color (Matte)

All of these eyeshadows apply really easily, however the formula on Snobby is a little chalky. I haven't had problems applying it however it isn't a shade you could just throw on quickly as it needs time to be applied. As always the colors are pigmented and just touching my finger to the pans leaves beautiful color on my finger tips.

The balm palette retails on their website for $36 USD and comes in two styles (as mentioned before with no difference in eyeshadow shades) the naughty one like my own palette and the nice which features a vintage style room.
I purchased my palette off eBay for $40 including postage.

I am generally not one for Nude Palettes, I love bright colors but for the last few weeks I have been reaching for this stylish, sexy palette.

Remember it is your imperfections that make you unforgettable.
Good night ghouls.
Ashlee Adams.

Tarte for True Blood ♥

Hey Ghouls;
Just a little bit of personal info here, i'm in love with Vampyre, and i'm not talking about glitzy teeny bopper fan idols (no offence to anyone) and i'm not talking about depressing emo vampires. I'm talking about Anne Rice, the vampire Lestat, sexy, gory and down right awesome Vampyre.
So naturally when the True Blood books came out i was very much into them, the tv series didn't quiet do the books justice however I fell in love with that as well.
As you can imagine when i discovered that Tarte had partnered with True Blood to form a limited edition make up collection, i literally just had to have it. This need was enhanced on my visual of the palette that had been corseted in two of my favourite colours, red and black.
Unfortunately being in Australia and Tarte being an American brand i could only find the items on Ebay; so unfortunately i won't be able to link you to where i bought mine i will link the Tarte website for those of you in countries that they do ship to.
The collection is entirely limited edition and includes a Palette, a cheek stain and a lip stain.

As usual i'll start with packaging which has to be my favourite part of these products.

Both the Palette and the lip stain have plastic box packaging and another bit of personal info here, I'm a complete klutz so it takes me forever to get the lip stain out of it's packaging, I'm actually struggling with it right now.
After removing the lip stain from the box it is in the same packaging as the cheek stain; both are black tubes with chrome finish lids in a dark grey silver, you can actually see yourself in them which i find extremely cool.
The writing on the tubes is red with the exception of the True part of the True Blood logo. The Cheek stain being of wider circumference has Glamour Me printed on the back of the tube, however the lip stain has Glamour Me printed on the clear plastic box.

On to my favorite part of the collection the Palette. As i said before the Palette also has a plastic box, though no quiet as hinder-some as the lip stains one. The palette box easily slides out of the plastic container; with it comes a dark grey paisley patterned card, featuring the words Glamour Me (hoping you all get the reference here, if not go watch true blood) on one side and a chart of everything in the box on the other. Inside there are tutorial hints from the True Blood makeup artist Brigitte Ellis.
The Palette itself features that gorgeous previously mentioned corset pattern and on the inside has embossed paisley print surrounding the eyeshadows. The bottom section contains a draw with the text 'Open After Dark' on it, a small loop of ribbon extends from the bottom so you can open the draw.

The Cheek Stain
The lid for the Cheek stain is a screw top, so once unscrewed you are presented with a hard clear plastic lid which unless you have long nails (thank ghoul i do) it rather frustrating to remove. I've never bought a Tarte cheek stain so leave a comment if you know that this is how they package all of their cheek stains.
After removing the plastic lid i would've been a little confused (if i hadn't have watched another review) as to how the cheek stain pops up, this could just be my ignorance, i'm not really one for blushes of any sorts. The cheek stain has a press up button on the bottom of the container.
The color in the tube is a very pretty blend between a crimson and a retro red with gold sparkles. When applied the color is a sweet rather natural blushy red/pink color, i know this is the color i turn when i blush, though i am extremely pale. I have heard a lot of reviews claiming that the gold sparkles don't transfer to the skin however this is not the case for me, in fact i love the gold shimmer appearance when the light hits my skin, not to heavy just there enough to give you a bit of a glow. Another thing to mention is that the cheek stain has a fragrance that is really hard to put a finger on and is not detectable once applied, i'm going to go with lemony citrus but if you have the product and have another suggestion please comment because it's driving me insane.
Alright onto the lip stain.

The Lip Stain
The lid for the lip stain simply slides off and i really like the crayon appearance of this lip stain, again i've heard this is how most of the lip stains by Tarte are packaged but most of my lip stains are in liquid form so this is a first for me. The product twists up, which could be a future problem when the point of the lip stain is lost. In the tube the product is a slightly coppery strawberry red with a very subtle golden tint. This time when applied the golden tint does not transfer (at least to my lips) and when swatched the color is very similar to that of the cheek stain just opaque. On the lips you get a different result because the stain is blending with your natural lip color, i tend to get a bit redder than the swatch. The lipstain has a pretty minty smell though i can't stand too much of it.

Swatches for LS and CS:

Palette
Putting aside the Palette's gorgeous appearance, when you open the draw there are three items presented in a furry red plastic setting. Which i love running my finger over :).
The first product in the draw is the Tarte, True Blood primer, which i have heard a lot about. The primer is in a simple black tube with a black lid unlike the cheek and lip stains. On the back it reads '51% decrease in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles' I haven't noticed that much difference between this and my Urban decay primer potion, they both last a night of clubbing and go on rather smoothly, so i probably wouldn't get the primer simply for that fact. Like the Urban Decay Primer Potion, the Tarte True Blood Primer has a doe foot applicator.

The second product in the draw is the Tarte for True Blood Mascara. It is also packaged in a black tube however this tube has snake skin printed all over it, which makes it stand out in the draw. On the back it reads 'Increases lash volume by 424%' at this point in time i can't really remember whether or no i've seen any difference in lash volume so i'll get back to you on that.
Now I have naturally really long eyelashes so i generally only use mascara to darken my lashes, however most of the brands i have tried tend to clump way to much on the wand, i'm currently using the Australian Designer Brands mascara because it has a short bristled plastic wand that i have not yet seen get clumpy. However that may change. The true blood mascara has a shortish bristled wand that is (correct me if i'm wrong) some form of synthetic hair, this wand is much softer than my Australian DB mascara and i am extremely happy to say DOES NOT CLUMP :) this is my new go to mascara when i'm going out somewhere other than just everyday because i really really love it but at the same time i don't want to run out.

The final product in the drawer is a black retractable eyeliner, again this is in a thin black tube, no patterning. The eyeliner reminds me of the cheap retractable eyeliners you can get in the $2 store here in Australia, it's a wind up gel eyeliner, unfortunately DO NOT wind up too much as at least mine anyway won't go back into the tube. The product itself lasts a decent amount of time, again it can with stand a night of clubbing, it doesn't smudge and leaves a hard line and i found it works great on my water line - unlike others that simply wipe off.
These three products are part of Tartes permanent collection just without the True Blood logo.

So now onto the part i know you've all been waiting for, the eyeshadows. :)
There are 17 eyeshadows in the Palette, i'll write them down in the order they are on the palette and give you a quick description. (Note: Camera went flat will upload proper swatches ASAP, for now please view Dustin's review video)

-The Light
A very pale peachy cream color, for those of you who know the Crayola Crayon colors i'd say this is close to the Almond. This color blends out to the point where only the frost finish is seen on my pale skin.

-Fairy
Again a very pale pink shadow, it is almost a pink version of The Light. This is my highlighter as it really works well with pale skin, again it blends really well with pale skin.

-Dusk
This is the first of the four Matte shadows in this collection. It is a warm toned light brown.

-Dawn
A shimmering pastel yellow gold color. There is a bit of fall out with this color Not much else to say

-Werewolf
The second of the Mattes, this is a medium earthy brown.

-Waitress
A shimmering peachy color, the shimmer does make this product very fall outy and is definitely the hardest of the bunch to work with because of the loose flaky texture. Still a nice color and with a bit of effort you can make it work.

-Nocturnal
A matte black sprinkled with midnight blue glitter, i've heard a lot of people complain that when swatched and applied the blue glitter just doesn't transfer. I find that the blue glitter transfers well, again this could be my skin type but the blue definitely turns up and i have been complimented a hundred times on it.

-Charmer
A coppery apricot color, again it has a very frosty finish, in certain lights the yellow tones pick up more, in others the pink.

-Glamour Me
A deep plumish purple with a slight satin finish, very pigmented

-Stake
The third Matte in the bunch, Stake is a very true grey shade, without leaning to any other color, i have many greys that end up too blue in some lights but this is true grey through and through.

-Bayou
A gold shimmer, like dawn this also has undertones of yellow however this shade is truer to gold color and not pale.

-Telepath
A pinky rose color combined with silver glitter, a little bit of fall out with use however not like Waitress.

-The True Death
A bright and very true silver color, the pigment payoff on this is amazing and definitely grabs attention.

-Immortal
Another Matte black loaded with glitter, this time silver, in the pan this almost reminds me of the night sky. Again i've heard that like Nocturnal this shadow leaves the glitter in the pan however again i find the glitter does transfer onto your skin; when swatched this is a much dark black than Nocturnal

-Moss
An evergreen green that can depending on the colors you pair it with look more emerald this is one of my favorite colors and it also reminded me that i have very few green eyeshadows in my collection. This has a satinish finish.

-Legend
The final Matte, it is a soft black leaning more towards a charcoal color. Very strong color payoff

-"V"
A red burgandy shade that is littered with purple undertones. Cooler toned red.

Well that's it thank you for reading, i hope you found this entertaining and helpful.
Until next time,

Geek Chic Cosmetics Haul!

Hey Ghouls;
Roughly three weeks ago i ordered two eyeshadow sets from Geek Chic Cosmetics.
The two sets that i ordered are the 'Fang Banger's Quartet' and 'Geeks Vs Zombies' there are four colors in each set and the total cost was around $45 dollars
.
Please Note: Unfortunately since moving i haven't been able to find my camera charge and all photos are taken on a Nokia X6 which is only a 5 mp camera with flash.

So as usual i'll begin with the packaging, the cosmetics arrived in a simple delivery box and at no fault of the company my stupid mail man squashed the box into my mail box thankfully nothing in the pack was breakable. I opened the pack to some lovely blood almost crimson red tissue paper and an invoice with a lovely personalized note saying thank you for my purchase.
The eye-shadows were homed in a pink mesh bag and were wrapped individually with shrink wrap.
Each set has a different label design and i find these gorgeous especially the 'Geeks Vs Zombies' set. Which has a black and pink highlighted bio-hazard symbol fused with a heart design on what can be described as almost a camouflage type light-green background. The 'Fang Banger's Quartet' label features an open vampire mouth (with fangs) and some blood spill on the right side. When you turn over the products you will see another label which reads 'Geek Chic Cosmetics' across the top and then the name of the color and what set it is part of. The part i like most about these eye-shadows is that each label on the bottom differs depending on the ingredients and although i am not Vegan i do enjoy seeing Vegan and especially Cruelty-Free on the bottom on the jars they also list all the ingredients and in bright red list any 'allergy materials' and whether or not it is safe to use on lips. which to me makes the items much more caring and personal.
So onto the products themselves.

I'll start with the 'Fang Banger's Quartet' which features the colors.
-Blood Bond
-Viking King
-Eyes of the Werewolf
-Purity Burns
Although the creator doesn't mention the TV show that inspired these colors and set it was quiet obvious to myself what they were inspired by and ironically i was watching True Blood when the package arrived :) I instantly started discussing to whoever was in the vicinity (mainly my cat) what color was inspired by who and so on.

I'm really happy that these arrived when they did because i happen to have purchased (for any true blood fans who live in Victoria) tickets to the Yearly Fangtasia Club Night and i am stoked to be able to wear such lovely and true blood inspired colors.

Swatches will be featured in photos below the text, all swatches are one finger swipe on freshly cleaned but dry skin. If you would like swatches with a primer or wet feel free to email me at AshiieImperfect@gmail.com

Blood Bond:
Website description: A deep blood red pigment
My description:  I agree with the creator description; Blood bond is a delicious blood red color, if you look really closely you can see some metallic flakes of a coppery gold. The pigment has an undertone of maroon but is a very vibrant color that is able to be blended down to create a more subtle color, that is for those of you who aren't bold enough for bright colors.
Viking King:
Website description: Intense antique gold pigment with silver shimmer
My description: I'm not usually the agreeable type but i have to say that Geek Chic aptly describe their colors. Viking King is a deep almost olden gold as if time as worn away some of the bright gold color, however that does not say that this is not a vibrant pigment, it definitely is. I couldn't see the need in blending this color down but when dabbed back it creates a hint of a golden glow.
Eyes of the Werewolf:
Website description: A soft and shiny copper pigment with a touch of gold glimmer to it
My description: I wouldn't say that Eyes of the Werewolf is so much of a copper, it does have copper properties but appears (at least on my arm and to my eyes) to be composed of more of a light orange pigment.
Purity Burns:
Website description: A semi-opaque silver with a high shine and shimmer
My description: This is a beautiful shimmery silver that has undertones of light blue depending on the light, works well as a color but may take a few more swipes to form a solid color.

'Geeks Vs Zombies' are colors inspired by the future and as we all agree imminent Zombie Apocalypse, the set features the four colors.
-Stay Indoors
-Grey Matter
-Ugghhh...Brains!
-Vector

Stay Indoors:
Website description: It is a black green/blue/purple trio-chrome. The color that it shows up as depends on what other colors are being used with it as well as the lighting you are in.
My description: A deep navy almost black with blue glitter, gorgeous for a smoky eye. I'm not sure about the green that the website says is in it but i definitely see blue and purple.
Grey Matter:
Website description: An opaque dark grey with a blue sheen. Gray Matter has a opalescent quality that’s not quite metallic.
My description: Again i have to agree with the website description, it's very accurate the color is a lovely mix between grey and teal. In different lights the teal tinge becomes more dominant and in other lights the grey is the dominant pigment.
Ugghhh...Brains!:
Website description: A semi-opaque, bright kelly green with high shimmer.
My description: This is one of my favorite colors in this set just as Blood Bond was the reason for me buying the Fang Banger Quartet. This is a lovely lime green with a light and subtle yellow shimmer, VERY vibrant and pigmented, one swipe was enough to color my hand.
Vector:
Website description: A pastel ultra violet purple and sea-foam green duo-chrome. It has green color shifting highlights and a subtle touch of glitter.
My description: A sweet pearlish lavender with a sweet undertone of blue-green. Not much else to say about the color.

With my order also came a free sample bag of the color Born in Fire from the set 'Win or Die'

Website description: The rich, regal violet of the Targaryens with smokey indigo depths. Silky, with a pearlescent sheen and a scattering of glittering ruby embers.
My description: A gorgeous purple color, almost a grey with purple and blue highlights.

I love the creators at Geek Chic cosmetics because their descriptions of the colors in 'geek terms' make me feel a part of a family.
I will definitely be buying from them again, they are wonderful to deal with and beautiful colors.
Thanks for reading guys, pop over and check them out and enjoy their gorgeous products.
